Gloucestershire Pairs Competition

As many of you may know on Wednesday 6th June Redland Green are hosting the Quarter Finals of the Gloucestershire Pairs Competition when the top two pairs from the Bristol, Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucestershire sections play for a place in the County Semi Finals.

It is therefore especially pleasing to note that a Redland pair will be playing at that stage at their home club.

Gerry Wickham and Chris Blake will be playing Jim Russell and Andy Gadd at approximately 6pm on Monday 4th June for a place in the Quarter Finals having both reached the final stages of the Bristol section competition.  We wish both pairs the best of luck!

Redland came up against a Fairford Triple which included the reigning County Four Wood Champion, Tim Bloomer, leading.

Redland were in the game until the 16th end when the Fairford skip turned a 2 wood Redland position into a 4 for Fairford.

The final score was 19-15 to Fairford.

Glos Triples Monday 14th May

In a nail biting extra end finish that went down to the very last bowl Andy Gadd, Kevin French and Jim Russell beat a triple from St Andrews to reach the Quarter Finals of the Glos Triples Competition.

LATEST NEWS (22nd September)

Despite Andy's achievements in the club competitions this season he has still underachieved(!!) in comparison to Tommy Graham in 1967. He not only won the Championship, Handicap, and Two Woods, just like Andy, but found the time to also win the Pairs!! Many thanks to Trevor for this research which gives Andy a new, and stretching, target to become a legend in his own lifetime!!!

A selection of photo's from the Gloucester Two rink finals held at Moreton-in-the Marsh recently when we finished as runners-up v G B Britton.
